HTTYD Fan Ocs
Oskar: This blonde lives on a far away, isolated frosty island. Completely untouched and undiscovered by outsiders, the people here live in harmony alongside the unique dragons that also call the place their home. They live deep underground in caverns, leaving the surface of the island relatively untouched. It's how they've remained undetected. Life is simple on the island. Oskar, a rather frail boy, spends his time with his dragon, Chirp, a beautiful white dragon with oversized gossamer wings who he's been raised alongside since birth. A healer by trade, Oskar is kindhearted and sincere to a fault. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He's radically optimistic, believing in the inherent good of the world. When their island is discovered and raided by dragon hunters, he maintains this belief, even as his previous innocence is torn away when he learns that the outside world is not nearly as kind as his home.
Damon: The forgotten son of the island Chief, Damon is constantly overshadowed by his more competent older brother, Liam. Violent, disorderly, and generally a wreck, Damon is seen as good for fighting and not much else. Most of his life was spent eating, drinking, and canoodling until one day he sets his sails, alone, on a quest to prove himself to his father. A storm knocks him off of his course, and he ends up crash landing into a small, icy island with dragons he's never seen before. It's here that he meets Oskar, a boy so unlike anyone he's met yet. Despite his brutish personality, Oskar welcomes him with open, enthusiastic arms — he's never met an outsider before — and Damon is accepted into the fold of this small community. Standoffish at first, he can't believe how something like this could exist in their harsh world, but with Oskar's gentle insistence as he teaches him about dragons, Damon learns that they're much more than mindless beasts. After Oskar's island is found by dragon hunters and they get into a fight, Damon is forced to choose: go back to his home and return to his previous life, or fight for a difference.
In the end, Damon moves to the island and builds a life alongside Oskar. He learns the meaning of true hard work, as everyone is expected to help out in whichever way. He lends his strength and ends up doing a lot of repairs, construction, and hunting. Him and Oskar end up sharing a small room with two dragons: Chirp, who seems to get a kick out of annoying Damon, and eventually Blue; a Deathgripper who had escaped and crash landed onto the island and bonded with Damon.
Notes: i have a lot of stuff for their story and its really hard to explain concisely lol but i've put a lot of thought into these guys <3 my blorbos forever!!
Killer Ocs
Note: so i have two different universes for rook, in which his character and story changes vastly between the two. there's rook two, who ends up running away to live on a polish farm with his boyfriend, and theres rook one who turns his other boyfriend into a crazy murderer. just stick with me here lol.
Rook (v1): An infamous hitman known for his brutal kills. Despite this, he's never been caught. He operates around the world, killing for money. Usually some high level businessman or politician, he has very little limits. Despite his grim job, he has an almost unsettling cheer, effortless charisma, and the ability to make friends with almost anyone he meets.
Liam: After his parents died, Liam was left in charge of his two younger brothers. Having completely abandoned his personal life to work as many jobs as possible to keep their family afloat, Rook enters his life when he comes to Liam's apartment to retrieve some guns he had stashed their years prior. Liam was obviously disturbed by this, but Rook gives him an offer he can't afford to refuse: as long as he kept Rook's weapons here, and secretly, Rook would pay him handsomely.
Their Story in a summary: Rook takes a liking to Liam and offers him more money for increasingly riskier jobs. Liam needs the money, so he agrees, but the further he gets into it, the less it becomes about the pay and the more it becomes about this strange dark thing growing between the two of them.
Notes: These guys are probably one of my most convoluted OC stories. I know I have a timeline written down somewhere for them, but they've truly gone through a lot and this description does not do them justice.
Rook (v2): An infamous hitman known for his brutal kills. Despite this, he's never been... Yeah, you get it. This time, he's accompanied by a colorful cast of his killer friends slash business associates. Known for his friendly demeanor, nonplussed attitude, insane stories and crazier wealth, Rook keeps the group in line.
Alex: Ever since killing his abusive father, Alex couldn't let go of the taste of murder. He met Rook when he was desperate, and the othe man brought him into the fold. Alex admired Rook deeply.
Their story in a summary: Rook one purposes a contest. A contract killing with a prize of half a million dollars and extreme rules. He didn't reveal the target until everyone had signed their contracts, but once they did, he revealed that the target was... Himself. After him and Alex had a heart to heart, and Alex inevitably caught up with him in Poland, it's revealed that 'Rook' was nothing more than a facade in a long line of facades. He had been killing since he was fourteen and escaped his cult upbringing. It was the only time he had ever felt any emotion, and so he started in strides. He operated under several different names, trying several different styles, and eventually it stopped giving him that same feeling. Faced with a lifetime of emptiness, Rook decides to embark on his final frontier: being killed. He wanted to know what it felt like to be on the other end. Alex, whose long since developed feelings for Rook, proposes that they instead run away together. If Rook, in a year, still felt empty, then they would return to the church and Alex would kill Rook. A few years later and they live on a small farm in the countryside, retired from murder.
Notes: completely, shamelessly self indulgent au i made, inspired by a whole host of things. Again, my short descriptions cut out a lot of the detail, but these guys mean a lot to me. This version of Rook is the same on the surface as v1 but underneath very different as they have completely different backgrounds (albeit both tragic, because I know who I am and what I like, sue me). v1 isn't as 'dead inside' or performative as v2. v2 is also a huge, gigantic philosophy nerd while v1 just likes money and tormenting Liam. This one has a lot more emotional substance to it and they do make me a little weepy :,). maybe one day, i'll give them the writeup they deserve. As it is, i'm doing all of these in one go so I can only recall so much off the top of my head when writing out my fifty billion ocs.
